Buti Yoga - A Different Way to Sweat

You know how certain music throws a smile on your face?
I am an athlete and a runner, and music is a big part of what makes these activities something I look forward to. With Buti Yoga, it's all about the music. Each transition, pose, and movement reflects the music being played. You feel the energy and 'flow to the beat of the drum.' It's amazing the feelings you get when you're in tune with music + movement.
I always like yoga but wanted more from the practice. Hot Yoga was the closest I ever got to feeling like I got my sweat on, feeling accomplished and stretched - until I tried Buti.
How is it different from traditional yoga?
Buti yoga is LOUDER and FASTER than any yoga you've ever experienced and the music is always amazing. It isn't always right to left so, mentally, you're not preparing for the next sequence of moves - instead, you're listing to the instructor on what to do next. There's a LOT of spiralling of the hips and sternum which, amazingly enough, has this crazy effect on ab strength and definition. There's also a lot of cardio involved as well.
Even though it a physically intense, there's a whole other part to it. Buti still maintains the mental flushing traditional yoga teaches, which is amazing because you leave class feeling light in the mind and body.
Buti Yoga in Edmonton
Buti yoga hasn't shown its face to Edmonton much, yet. There are a few location, and a few instructors, but not many people know about it.
At Dadirri Buti Yoga, we instruct Buti and hope to bring the power of this practice to light for Edmontonians. It is powerful, inside and out, and life changing. Everyone should try this practice at least once.
